Sunday 13th September, as part of the Blackdown Hills Festival of Heritage, the Luppitt Landscape Partnership welcomed 30 participants, including 21 adults and 9 children, from across the Blackdown Hills and surrounding parishes.
Led by artist Emma Molony and Heritage Project Coordinator Jess Huffman, the monoprinting workshop invited people of all ages and abilities to explore Luppitt’s landscape, heritage and wildlife through creative printmaking. Fuelled by tea, homemade scones and damson pie, participants experimented with monoprinting techniques inspired by personal photographs and archive images uncovered during the project.
The event also provided an opportunity to share the new Luppitt Heritage and Habitat Map, which highlights 30 species identified through ecological surveys and community memories. Children were delighted to spot their own artwork featured on accompanying postcards, making the day a fun and engaging celebration of local history, landscape and nature.
